Valdivia, Chile
Well we are now in Valdivia. Things here aren't what we thought they would be. First of all when we were in the US they told us that we would be staying with a family and that it would be close to the University. It's not either of those. We are like a 45 min walk to the University one way. It costs 350 pesos one way, so I don't know if we want to pay everyday. We are staying with a family, but it's more of a Pension set up. Right now it's just the family living here but there are 2 more empty rooms. Today we walked to the church, and there is like no one that speaks english; when we were in Santiago there were some people we could talk with. I think it's actually a branch we are part of, and there are very few single adults. But we have made friends. We went to a fireside tonight that was a CES broadcast at BYU. Seeing BYU made me really miss it. Plus it was in english and I'm like desperate to hear english, or words that I understand. I feel for missionaries now! This really is a good "pre-mission" test. We have plans to hang out with some of the single adults on Tuesday and Wednesday. I also saw a missionary here that was from my ward freshman year at BYU! It was crazy! He must be going home soon. I think we really to just get use to being here. Santiago and Conception were a lot of fun, but this is where we need to get to work and do the things we need to do.
