Life

Stuff I'm doing:
painting shirts to commemorate my trip to Chile.

Manti Temple Trip

This past week end my ward went to the Manti Temple. Yeah, there is a temple in the middle of nowhere Manti! I love seeing different temples and this one's baptismal font was different than the ones I'm use to. It was so colorful! Over all it was a good experience. :D

Extracting DNA

I know my life has gone back to it's boring ol' routine since I got back to Provo, but the one thing I got to hold on to is my crabs. As you probably have read previously I did successful sneak my crabs past three different countries custom agents.
Now that I have my crabs here I now have the joy of doing DNA work on them. THE PLAN is to get the DNA work and the geometric morphometric work done this summer so I can write a paper with the results this fall.
To map the DNA from the crabs I am extracting DNA from their gills. This actually took way longer than I thought. First you need to break open the carpace and then take the gills out and put them in ethanol, and then package them. Sounds easy enough right? Well try doing that for 80 crabs. ... yeah, I was a little bored... SO HERE ARE PICTURES!

Blake's Graduation!

My friend Blake graduated this last week... I'm super jealous. I still have at least another grueling year to go through...

BDA #26

Well I have been Provo for about two weeks and I we ALMOST have all the boxes gone. It's a slow process for us.
Anyways, here's a virtual tour of my new place! BDA #26!!! (BDA stands for Benedict Arms)
Here's my bedroom... nicely decorated with fake flowers so they never die, and disney pillow cases. At least I have a cool "surfer" bedcover.
This is the closet. The colorful half is Emily's and the dark side is mine. I really need to start lightening up.
The best part about our new place is that we have a washer and dryer. Now I don't have to carry my clothes up and down three flights of stairs in the snow to get to the washer and driers. It's just right out side my room!!! Okay, so they are really old machines, but I'm not complaining!
This is our bathroom. I bought some fake flowers, popery, and a vase and wa-la! Cute bathroom!
This is our "music room." Okay it's just part of our living room, but it's the music "area" at least.
This is our living room... and as you can see, well lived in already! And then over there the kitchen is connected. The microwave is a little old, but it still works!

So I'm also trying to grown plants... again. I know in the past my efforts haven't been that successful, but I'm trying again.

And look I'm already making progress!!!:D

We also have a new addition to our apartment.... Peeve! Yup, he's our pet peeve! :D He's the only male allowed after 12 in our apartment! And today we bought him some fake flowers. He's still scared of them, but in the mean time it's fun watching him avoid them.

As you can see our place is pretty ghetto, but it already feels like home.
