A Day without Nicole

This morning Nicole left to go on her collecting trip to Chiloe. She left before I got up so I think I mumbled a good bye, and went back to sleep. So when I finally became coherent, I rolled over and looked over at Nicole's bed, like I do every morning because she's AWAYS up before me, and this is what I saw:
Gone.
Her backpacking bag that was on our floor for a week was gone too. She had really left. After a week of her Professor putting off the trip it was a shock to see her actually gone!

Solemnly I got up and read my blogs. I went to lunch. It was a great meal, but there was no one urging me to try the weird Chilean fruit like Nicole does everyday.

I went to catch the bus. As I walked down the isle I picked Nicole's favorite seat on the bus. The seat right above the left side wheel. Why she likes this spot I have no idea. There are just somethings I don't question. This is in memory of where Nicole would sit:
I always sit to the right of her. This is something we noticed the first few weeks that I just do habitually. We thought it was weird.
Since I didn't have anything to do in lab, and today no Nicole to visit, I was really bored. There was just a lot of spanish today.
Some girls passed me on my way to the church and realized I miss MI companero de Chile...
