We woke up early Sunday morning to find it poring outside. Oh a little rain never hurt anyone... RiGhT?
Since we didn't really know what was happening we got into the car and started driving. Soon enough we came to a half paved half dirt road. Then that ended and we went off road-ing! WOO! The road was a complete mess of dirt, sand, mud and water.
I felt like I was in the movie Jarasic Park... I was just waiting for the dinosaurs to pop out at any moment! As we continued and every once and a while we would stop and check out the surrounding areas for frogs. It was still poring rain and the only clothes Nicole and I had were water RESISTANT, not waterproof... which are really two different things. Needless to say we were soaked very quickly. Frog hunting got boring very quickly.
When ever we were outside hunting all I could think about was
1) when are we going back to the car
2) man, this makes me such a hard-core biologist, no one can dispute that
3) this is going to make a great blog post
Then the car stopped working. Right in "the middle of no where, Chile." Luckily it was just the battery and we had some man power start it. However we had to leave the car running for the rest of the trip even when we were out hunting.
The places we went to really were beautiful though. It was so foggy and we felt like we were in the middle of a cloud. The nature was so untamed. But it still turned out to be a good experience.
And of course we caught a lot of frogs....
or tried too. Hehehe
